Australia’s first ever pitching session for creative businesses will take place at the creative3 International Forum, with a creative business prize of $100,000 up for grabs.

The creative3 Investment Marketplace will give aspiring creative businesses the chance to pitch their business ideas to a panel of business and industry experts.  The applicant who is judged to have the most innovative and viable business concept by the panel will win a creative business prize valued at $100,000 (terms and conditions apply – see www.creative3.com.au for details).

QUT’s Creative Enterprise Australia Chief Executive Officer, Anna Rooke said all new and emerging creative businesses that are chosen to showcase their business concepts at the creative3 investment marketplace will benefit from this unique opportunity.

“Securing investment is a major challenge for emerging creatives with only limited support and business development previously offered in this area,” Ms Rooke said.

“Investment is one of the platforms upon which creative3 has been built.  With enterprise and creativity, it comprises the powerful combination which is key to any successful creative enterprise.”

creative3 investment marketplace is open to creative industry businesses in the areas of design (including designer fashion), film and television, interactive media, music and new media.  Businesses are required to be in the start-up or development phase, have a turnover of less than $500,000 and be able to demonstrate evidence of sufficient capital and growth potential.

Businesses are asked to complete their application on-line at www.creative3.com.au using the creative3 Investment Marketplace Application Form by Wednesday, 24 March and provide information in relation to their business concept and strategy, competitive market positioning, business viability and financials and key management capabilities.

The prize will comprise in-kind support and services and a cash component.  QUT Creative Enterprise Australia is tailoring the prize package in line with the unique needs and requirements of a creative business to ensure it offers maximum benefit.

“The prize package already includes financial, professional development and marketing support but we would welcome any other organisation interested in providing services and support to help the chosen creative business,” Ms Rooke said.

“I urge all motivated and capable creative entrepreneurs who meet the eligibility requirements and minimum criteria to apply.”
